Yoga with Erin
Erin has been practicing yoga for 18 years and teaching yoga for 12 years. Her initiation into yoga began at the age of 16 with a strong desire to feel at ease in her body and at peace with herself.
The idea of creating a feeling of Union and wholeness through movement hooked her immediately… Yoga was the first time for her that exercise felt good and replenishing… like it was coming from the inside out. Her first few years of practice were solo- She read tons of books and practiced with DVD’s… ( this was Before You Tube!)
Yoga became the healthiest way for her to express and feel emotions and to be in her body. Yoga has been a constant in her life since the start… Her practice has been an anchor to her Spirit, a way to heal, to feel, to meditate, to exercise, to pray, to create, to embody whatever is happening.
She found her first teachers in 2006 at SoderWorld Healing Arts Center.
Sarah Richelle Starnes & Brent Miller gave Erin the love, support and guidance she needed at the time.
She is so grateful for these two open hearted healers who shared their love of yoga in a way that made her feel that she could too.
The nudge to become a yoga teacher was strong enough to overpower her severe shy-ness … It was one of those moments of being really scared and going for it anyways.
Sarah & Brent taught Erin the bio-mechanics of yoga along with Tantric philosophy… They introduced her to both of the women who have been great mentors to Erin, Desiree Rumbaugh & Sianna Sherman.
Erin’s passion for learning about anatomy and kinesiology inspired her to begin massage therapy school at the same time she began her first yoga teacher training.
Erin completed her initial teacher training with Sarah Starnes & Brent Miller at SoderWorld Healing Arts Center and has since had the privilege to attend several classes, workshops and trainings with wonderful teachers.
She credits both Desiree Rumbaugh and Sianna Sherman as being the most influential mentors on her teaching style.
She recently completed the Wisdom Warriors therapeutic yoga teacher training with Desiree Rumbaugh & Physical Therapist, Karen Church and Sianna Sherman’s Rasa Yoga Teacher Training Immersion, Roots & Wings.
Erin teaches with a light-hearted, welcoming and encouraging demeanor… She loves to make you feel at ease and free to be yourself. Her classes are therapeutic and focused on guiding those in her care into moving in ways that create deep strength and resiliency. The most important element for you to experience is a true connection to yourself.
